As the pioneering New York Jam Band, The Zen Tricksters do it all. For over

45 years, unparalleled songwriting melds with lifetimes of music appreciation

conjuring psychedelic originality spanning the outer reaches of jazz, the

Grateful Dead, and beyond resulting in new and inventive magic. For nearly

five decades, these travels move listeners to the limits of imagination,

solidifying The Zen Tricksters cornerstone in the foundation of the modern

Jam Band temple.

The Zen Tricksters have three albums of original material, and one live

double-disc recorded at the Rex Foundation Benefit Black-Tie Ball in 2005.

Phil Lesh, so impressed by the studio-jams of their second CD, A Love Surreal,

tapped two members to be part of his Phil & Friends collective. In 2008, they

recorded the album, “Donna Jean & the Tricksters” with Donna Jean

Godchaux, formally of the Grateful Dead.

The Zen Tricksters are hosting a rare reunion and will feature the following

lineup: Jeff Mattson (lead guitar / vocals), Klyph Black (bass / vocals), Tom

Circosta (rhythm guitar / vocals), Dave Diamond (drums), Jenna Markard

(vocals), with special guest Scott Chasolen (keyboards).

"The Tricksters are more than just a cover band. They have their own stuff and

they are brilliant, their stuff is brilliant. They are great players!" —Phil Lesh

“Before there was a jam band scene, there were The Zen Tricksters...” —Rolling Stone’s Frickes Picks by David Fricke
